Stipend vs. Company Housing- What's Right for You?

You have options when it comes to housing. With Fusion, there are two ways to arrange living in your new city. You may choose to have Fusion set you up with housing, furniture, cable, and utilities or you can take a tax free stipend for your living expenses and do the shopping yourself. Whichever option you choose, Fusion is here to help you get settled.

There are benefits for both ways of choosing your housing. Many of our travelers choose the housing stipend because they can often find housing that is less expensive than the state’s daily per diem rates. This allows the traveler to make the difference tax free and take home more per paycheck. Travelers are attracted to this option as the stipend may be higher than actual wages. Feel free to discuss this with your account manager.

Let Fusion make all of the arrangements for you. If you would like to have everything set up for you when you arrive, our Housing Coordinator, Emily, will make the calls. Your lease will be in Fusion’s name and you aren’t held liable for breaking any contracts. Typically, our housing consists of a one bedroom furnished apartment supplied with everything from linens to pots and pans.

Unlike other traveling medical companies, Fusion will assist you in every aspect of your move. The choice is yours; we’re just here to help make the transition as smooth as possible.
